Welcome to Hopewell Troop 8's website!

Troop 8 is chartered by Hopewell United Methodist Church and has been an active Scout BSA Troop since 1943.  In 2018, Troop 8 is celebrated their 75th anniversary. The Troop meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 7 PM to 8 PM on the second floor of McCausland Hall at the East Brandywine Township Building which is located off of Rt 322 outside of Guthriesville, PA. 2021 Jamboree Sign-up Now!! (Scholarships available for those that sign-up prior to April 30)

Troop 8 is participating in the 2021 National Jamboree as our High Adventure Program for 2021.  The 2021 National Scout Jamboree is scheduled for July 21 to 30 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.  Scouting’s flagship event is one-of-a-kind. It’s a gathering of approximately 40,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the BSA and its members. Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for participants, volunteers, and visitors to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place. Features include: one of the longest zip line courses in North America, a world-class skate park, ATV offerings, shooting sports, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, white water rafting, stadium shows, and much more!

Troop 8 attends Summer Camp at Resica Falls

Troop 8 had 41 scouts attend Summer Camp at Resica Falls Scout Reservation in July 2019.  Everyone had a great time. The Scouts participated in over 150 merit badge sessions.  During the week there were 24 rank advancements.
